Norwegian Cricket Federation is seeking a new Sporting Director

The Norwegian Cricket Federation (NCF) currently has 4700 active players throughout 72 teams. Our vision is that “Cricket under the NCF will be among the fastest growing team sports in Norway. That everyone who wishes to play has the possibility to do so at their own level.”
With this in mind we aim to further develop cricket within the areas of our core competitions, administration, facilities, youth cricket, female cricket and increased exposure of the sport within Norway.

Sporting Director

The Sporting Director’s most important task is to lead the NCF in its sporting development at both elite and recreational level.
The Sporting Director will contribute to expanding and developing cricket as a sport in Norway, as well as coaching and taking overall responsible for, all national teams.

The Sporting Director reports to the Secretary General and Board of The Norwegian Cricket Federation.
Workplaces are Ullevaal Stadium, The Norwegian Cricket Academy and various outdoor facilities.


Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for national programs and training.
  • Head coach for the national teams of Norway.
  • Establish and implement a nationwide Kwik cricket program and oversee annual participation growth.
  • Leading local coaches within the Kwik cricket program.
  • Establish and implement a nationwide schools cricket program.
  • Establish and implement an annual training program for local coaches.
  • Organizing the sporting aspects of summer cricket camps for school age children.
  • Develop a customized training course together with the Norwegian Sports Federation and the ICC, for local coaches.
  • Implement a club handbook to be used as guidance by clubs.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to establish youth competitions within the NCF.
  • Guiding clubs in the development of young players.
  • Be involved in promoting cricket nationally and internationally.
  • Represent Norwegian cricket nationally and internationally.


Qualifications

  • College/University qualification within sport.
  • Relevant management experience.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • UKCC3 (Or overseas equivalent)

  • Open-minded, outgoing, engaged and innovative.
  • Good cooperation and communication skills.
  • Results-oriented.
