Swindon Cricket Club is seeking the services of a Senior Head Coach for the 2016 season.

The successful applicant will be well resourced with a strong playing group and dedicated committee for support. The club has 4 Saturday senior teams, 2 Sunday senior teams and junior sides at Under 9s, 11s, 13s and 15s

The facilities include large cricket pavilion, a square with 23wickets, 3 lane artificial practice nets, roll on net, bowling machines plus a commitment to provide all other equipment deemed necessary.

At the end of the 2015 the committee instigated a complete re-structure of the club’s coaching to ensure there will be a strong focus to improve on field performances of our senior teams and the successful applicant will play an integral part of achieving this.

The clubs senior coach would be expected to:

  • Hold a UKCC 2/UKCC 3 coaching qualification or equivalent
  • Be a member of the ECBCA
  • Hold a current and valid DBS or undergo a DBS check
  • Have excellent communication skills, provide leadership, well-organised and be extremely motivated to make an outstanding impact on the club


In conjunction with the cricket club’s cricket sub-committee:

  • Develop a pre-season schedule with a focus on coaching, fitness and development of players.
  • Implement a professional training program that will continue on from pre-season development.
  • Coordinate all senior training sessions.
  • Oversee player selection in all senior teams.
  • Assist and be involved in the recruitment of senior players
  • Create a positive and enjoyable playing environment
  • Lead a positive cricket culture of continual improvement and commitment
  • Provide guidance to junior coaches and have input into the clubs junior development program and assist at the clubs summer cricket camps
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to all our Cricket Captains.

In return the candidate can expect to receive a competitive hourly rate, or an agreed day rate depending on the format of the coaching. The successful candidate will also gain the opportunity to deliver regular 1-1's to the clubs playing members at a pre agreed rate, as well as having the option to lead in the delivery and management junior summer camps at the cricket club to generate additional personal income.
