Business Development Manager – Meeting & Event Sales

Salary commensurate with experience (plus benefits & bonus)

 

Emirates Old Trafford is an award winning venue with ambition and commitment to further develop its burgeoning Conference and Events business. Being recognised regionally winning Marketing Manchester’s business tourism award in 2013 and then in 2014 winning Visit England’s gold award for business tourism beating off national competition such as Excel. Recent awards include the International stadium business awards project of the year for the new Pavilion and MEN Business of the year award.

With growth of our C&E business by 50% over the past two years, this is an exciting opportunity to play a role in growing the C&E sales further.

You will develop new business through pro-active sales, specifically targeting large corporate event business throughout the UK.

Full account management for existing and new clients.

Creating a sales pipeline of corporate, agency and event management company business.

Conduct show-rounds and walk-in’s to showcase the facilities.

Create and deliver a calendar of events – FAM trips targeted at Corporate, Agents and Event Management companies

The ideal candidate must have experience in the conference & events industry and demonstrate a strong background in proactive meeting and events (MICE) sales experience.

Pro-active, sales focused with strong commercial and revenue focus.

Driven and motivated to achieve sales targets.

Excellent communicator, confident in both re-active and pro-active prospect calling to clients, agents and other venues.

Strong IT skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel, along with experience of C&E booking systems, ideally Delphi.

Organised, with good administration skills, with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

Flexible with working hours to attend evening and weekend events, along with willingness to travel on business throughout the UK to conduct sales presentations.
