The Position

The purpose of the role is to promote, develop and coach cricket within Surrey. The role also sees the successful candidate coaching and developing our Chance To Shine School, Street Youth and Young Adult participation programmes, as well as other key programmes which will increase the number of participants in cricket and retain them in the game.
General Duties – Cricket Development
 

  •     deliver on Chance To Shine Street Youth community cricket programmes across Surrey (primarily Woking and Guildford)
  •     deliver on Chance To Shine Street Young Adult community cricket programmes across Surrey (primarily Woking and Guildford)
  •     deliver on disabilities cricket programmes across Surrey as required
  •     set up and attend school competitions as required
  •     deliver on our Chance to Shine school’s coaching programme
  •     assist with club development as required
  •     assist with our junior coaching course programme as required


Meetings/Key Partnerships Cricket Development Group meetings
 

  •     Junior Leagues Working Group meetings
  •     Schools Working Group meetings
  •     London & Surrey Schools Networks and respective Associations
  •     Local Authorities
  •     London Sport and Active Surrey County Sports Partnerships as required
  •     any other relevant organisations


Education and Training
 

  •     commit to a professional development programme in order to provide an appropriate service and support to all stakeholders
  •     liaise closely with your line manager and be prepared to undertake any other duties related to the work of these functions as required


Other
 

  •     responsible for the ongoing monitoring and reporting of all aspects of your work programmes to include completion of monthly activity reports for submission to relevant Committees at SCCC and Surrey Cricket Foundation
  •     ongoing and effective diary management
  •     any additional administration that is created through the role
  •     any other responsibilities as directed by your line manager

The Person
 

  • The successful candidate will have the following experience / skills / qualities:


Essential
 

  •     Minimum of 2 years coaching experience
  •     Level Two Cricket Coaching Qualification or equivalent
  •     Safeguarding Young People certificate
  •     to be a member of the ECB Coaches Association
  •     experience or knowledge of coaching disability cricket
  •     excellent ability to engage and communicate with a diverse group of individuals and key stakeholders
  •     ability to work as part of a team alone
  •     delivery of enthusiastic, high energy and effective coaching session which receives excellent feedback
  •     strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to plan and effectively deliver sessions and projects on time
  •     IT Literate (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  •     valid driving licence and access to own transport


Desirable
 

  •     sound knowledge of delivering cricket in hard to reach communities
  •     experience of delivering on women and girls cricket coaching programmes


Satisfactory ECB DBS Check and the right to work in the United Kingdom
