CRICKET JOBS: Logistics Assistant Manager - MCC (UK)

Lord’s Ground, the most famous cricket ground in the world, and owned by Marylebone Cricket Club (“MCC”), is an exceptional venue with a wealth of experience in delivering high quality hospitality, corporate and private events, supported by our Catering, Hospitality and Meeting and Events team.

The Logistics Assistant Manager will support the Logistics Manager with ensuring the operation is achieved for all cricket hospitality and meetings and events by overseeing the operational set-up, breakdown and cleaning of all hospitality and meeting venues and satellite kitchens around the Ground. This includes management of all equipment, linen and furniture.

This role will also take responsibility for the management of two Logistics’ Assistants and MCC’s casual porters which can increase to up to 25 on Major Match Days. Other duties include the management and tracking of MCC’s equipment, furniture and linen and carrying out bi-annual stock-takes, and ensuring dishwashers, glass washers, coffee machines and boilers are maintained.

Skills and experience

With experience gained in a logistics role, you will be forklift trained and will also have some experience of supervising or managing a team. Strong communication skills, are essential along with initiative, administrative and organisational ability and the ability to work quickly under pressure whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Good IT skills, particularly MS Outlook, Word and Excel, are also required.

Flexibility is vital as there is a regular need to cover evenings and weekends as well as working extended hours during the cricket season and all Major Match Days.
