Cumbria Schools Cricket Association and Cumbria Cricket Ltd U12 County Team Manager Vacancy.

Cumbria Cricket Ltd is the Local Governing Body for cricket in Cumbria as a member of the England & Wales Cricket Board Recreational Assembly. Company objects are to promote the game of cricket at all levels through the delivery of the ECB National Strategy ‘Grounds to Play’ and County Improvement Action Plan.
 
Cumbria Schools’ Cricket Association is the local governing body for cricket in schools and runs competitions at all ages up to U15, under the auspices of ESCA. We also run U12 representative 
fixtures and friendlies.

 
 
U12 County Team Manager for 2014.
 
The Under 12 County Squad currently plays six ESCA fixtures, two friendlies and takes part in a 4-day Festival in Ipswich in the school summer holiday. This exciting post will include:
Administration roles involved with the County Squad:
  • Organising fixtures against County Opponents
  • Book venues for coaching programmes
  • Organise travel, accommodation for festivals as required
  • Liaise with CSCA Treasurer and Chair/Competition Secretary
  • Select County Age group squad in conjunction with the Head Coach
  • Be part of Cumbria Player Pathway Steering Group
  • Load all results on Play-Cricket website
  • Ensure all activities are organised to meet all minimum quality standards
  • All reasonable expenses will be paid
At the time of writing, an U12 squad has been selected for 2014 by the U11 Manager. Coaching sessions have been arranged at Keswick Howard Allen Sports Hall on 19th January, and 2nd February2014, between 11.00am and 4.00pm. Candidates are encouraged to arrange to attend one or both of these sessions, with Chris Allason (Chair CSCA) 0169773817 (h) or 07719888618 (m)
 
Essential Qualifications:
 
Cricket experience
  • Must have managed a club junior side
  • Must hold UKCC 2 or ECB Level 2 or above qualification
  • Must be CRB checked
  • Must have up to date first aid and Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificates
  • Clean driving licence and own a car
  • Available to attend all coaching and fixtures
  • Knowledge of Play-Cricket website
Desirable
  • Experience of managing a County Age Group squad or District Cricket Squad
  • We would require the individual to have good management, organisation, and administration skills and be IT literate.

ADMINISTRATION
  • Arrange and book and assessment times 
  • Invite players to County Squad trial
  • Liaise with CC Ltd Director of Finance and CSCA treasurer to finalise costs for trials etc.
  • Responsible for selecting players for County assessment from Area development squads in conjunction with the County Head Coach
  • Responsible for content and format of assessment and county trial sessions in conjunction with The County Team Coach
  • Responsible for selection of county squad-mid February in conjunction with The County Team
  • Coach and the attending coaches at the trials
  • Responsible for the content and format of squad sessions in conjunction with The County
  • Team Coach
  • Regular liaison with Cumbria Player Pathway Steering Group
  • Responsible for format and content of final trials in conjunction with The County Team Coach
  • Inform players of squad selection
  • Attend squad sessions as appropriate
  • Liaise with Team coach over rules and regulations
  • Check fixtures with Coach and opponents team managers.
  • Confirm hosting arrangements with club(s)
  • Liaise with players/parents re selection/directions
  • Inform Cumbria Cricket Ltd web administrator of squad selected for the season (Richard Edmondson)
  • Administer letter regarding process for order and payment of clothing-deadline of March 31st to order clothing.
  • Load the full scorecard onto PLAY CRICKET
  • Inform CC Ltd of fixtures so they can be put on the website
  • Thank host clubs on the day.CC Ltd and CSCA will send out a joint letter thanking Clubs at the end of the season
  • Annual team report to CSCA and CC Ltd
  • Inform all players and parents of arrangements for festivals

MATCH DAY-Home fixtures

  • Arrive before players and coach to check playing arrangements
  • Check catering requirements for guests, players and officials
  • Liaison with coach on appropriate logistical and cricket matters
  • Meet umpires, opposition coaches and Manager to discuss playing format and conditions
  • Check facility at end of day for belongings, cleanliness.
  • Responsible for the demeanour and behaviour of the team on and off the field before, during and after the match. Both Coach and manager are responsible for the behaviour of their team, liaising as needed with parents.
  • Deliver after match review in liaison with Manager as appropriate.
  • Encourage appropriate gestures of sportsmanship
ELIGIBILITY
  • Must sign a CC Ltd Zero hours contract and associated codes of conduct and procedures
  • Must have current CRB disclosure
  • Must have current Safeguarding and Protecting Children Certificate (renew every 3 years)
  • Must have current First Aid certificate (renew every 3 years)
  • Wish to aid talented player development
  • Cricket experience and knowledge required
  • Willingness to undertake unpaid hours
  • Ideally, attendance at all matches is required
  • Must attend end of season review meeting and pre-season meeting with CC Ltd and CSCA
  • Invitation to attend CC Ltd Coaches Conference
