Detailed Description

Are you looking for the next step in your cricket coaching career and a unique challenge in a foreign country?  Do you have what it takes to mould a national team, most of whom have only played the sport for 18 months, to take on the best of Asia in the 2014 Asian Games?

The Korea Cricket Association (KCA) is looking to appoint a National Coach on a six-month, full-time contract from 1 April until the end of its Asian Games campaign which runs from 19 September – 4 October.

Incheon, South Korea is the host city for the 2014 Asian Games – the second biggest multi-sport event in the world behind the Olympics.  As the host nation, South Korea has received automatic entry into the Twenty20 cricket event where they will take on the likes of reigning champions Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Support from its government has allowed the KCA to contract a squad of athletes (some of whom were semi-professional baseballers) full-time since January 2013, as well as organise recent overseas tours to India and Sri Lanka.  During that time they have received professional coaching on a consultancy basis from Australia, India and Sri Lanka.

You must have a Level 3 or equivalent cricket coaching qualification; previous representative team coaching experience at a senior level; excellent communication skills and a proven ability to be flexible, innovative and patient where resources and facilities are limited.  You should also have experience working with different cultures and be able to adapt your style and approach.

The contract fee is USD4,000 per month and accommodation and a return flight to South Korea is provided on top of the contract fee.
