Key Responsibilities: High Performance Program

Develop, implement, and manage High Performance Youth Pathway (male) program. Focus areas to include (but not restricted to):

  • Implement and manage Talent ID program
  • Appointment and development of accredited coaching staff
  • Implementation of skill development programs throughout Tasmania
  • Ensure Individual Player Plans (IPP) for all players are developed and managed via Cricket Australia Athlete Management System
  • Attend regional squad training sessions (as required)
Youth Squads
  • Develop best practice coaching structures and systems to facilitate on-going team and individual player development
  • Promote and support individual player Professional Development programs and initiatives
High Performance - Youth (Coaching Staff)
  • Set clear objectives for all staff and provide the platform for the achievement of individual performance objectives
  • In conjunction with GM – Cricket and HR Manager support the professional development of all coaches
High Performance - Youth (Support staff)
  • In consultation with GM – Cricket ensure the appropriate support staff are appointed to provide quality professional service within the High Performance program. Areas to include (but not restricted to):
  • Sports Psychology
  • Medical (physiotherapy, GP, Sports Physician)
  • Diet & Nutrition
National Competitions
  • Fill role of Head Coach for specific Youth team
  • Fill role of Assistant Coach for specific Youth team (time permitting)
  • Provide input on policies, playing conditions, and scheduling for National Championships
Financial Management
  • Operate within program operational budget
  • Maximise available resources for the benefit of the Youth program
Media & Promotion
  • Complete media requests as directed/scheduled by CT Media & Communications Manager
  • Represent CT and Youth Pathway program professionally and with integrity
Administrative
  • Provide reports and/or make presentation to the Cricket Committee and/or CT Board (as requested)
  • Play a lead role in CT High Performance coaching group
  • Provide regular feedback on HP players to relevant coaches in Grade cricket
Youth Selection Panel
  • An active member of Youth Pathway selection panel
People & Culture
  • Contribute to the on-going success of Cricket Tasmania by adopting a holistic view of the organisation and its Strategic objectives
  • Promote and role model the desired culture and behaviours amongst Cricket Tasmania employees and related groups
  • Increase your capabilities by undertaking specific training and personal development programs
  • Ensure adherence to the human resource policies put in place by Cricket Tasmania
  • Meet the obligations of a leader as defined in relevant Health and Safety legislation
Key performance indicators (linked to CT Strategic Plan):
  • Finish in the top four teams in all National Youth Championships
  • Place in the top two positions of the Spirit of Cricket Award at each National Championships
  • High Performance coaching staff to be the best in Australia measured by:
  • Success of team and individual players
  • Elevation to national roles (coaches)
  • Tasmanian cricket’s pathway programs attract and retain talented youth multi-sport athletes at >50% success rate
Qualifications / experience
Mandatory:
  • Level 3 Cricket Coaching Accreditation
  • Team/Individual coaching experience
  • Experience within cricket industry
  • Driver’s Licence
Desirable:
  • High level playing experience
