The International Cricket Council (“ICC”) is the global governing body for the sport of cricket, which administers all aspects of international cricket. The Commercial Department strives to optimize commercial opportunities for the benefit of the game. The role will be based at our headquarters in Dubai, and preference will be given to candidates who are already based in the United Arab Emirates.

We are currently looking for a Sponsor Relations Officer to join the Sponsorship and Business Development team on a temporary contract, working fulltime providing maternity cover for 5 months from 1 September 2014 to 31 January 2015.

The individual will be involved in a diverse range of tasks, from ensuring the delivery of contractual rights and benefits of sponsors to assisting the finance department in processing invoices and collecting payments.

Principal Accountabilities

Responsibilities of the Sponsor Relations Officer include but are not limited to the following:

• Managing the planning and delivery of commercial rights and benefits to ICC sponsors in the lead up to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 including for example, approval of sponsor promotional artwork, in venue branding and signage, managing ticketing and hospitality allocations and assisting sponsors in the development of sponsor digital, social media and marketing activations
• Planning the ordering process for and receipt of Value-in-Kind products and services,
• Assisting the ICC Finance department with processing of rights fee payments and recovery of debts,
• Communicating with other ICC departments and ICC Event Hosts to ensure the marketing and promotional objectives of sponsors are achieved.

Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, marketing, communications or a related field is essential.
• A minimum of 4 years relevant work experience in marketing/advertising/branding or relationship management is highly desirable.
• Previous experience of sponsorship management, sports or event marketing is highly desirable.

Sponsor Relations Officer

• Affinity for cricket and a genuine interest and knowledge of the business of sports or events management is advantageous.
• Proven skills in managing contracts and supporting finance in recovering payments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Motivated, enthusiastic attitude and able to work creatively on own initiative.
• Good team player willing to work outside of standard hours occasionally.
• Experience of working with different cultures.

Conditions of employment

• The position is based at the ICC headquarters in Dubai Sports City and will report to the Sponsorship and Business Development Manager
• Applicants must have a valid working visa for the UAE.
• The selected candidate to furnish two work references including one from his current/latest employer.
• Compensation offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
