Applications are invited to join the team at Yorkshire Cricket Board as Disability Engagement Coach covering the South and West of the County.

This is a new post for which applicants will need a sound knowledge and understanding of disability issues in sports participation; a commitment to increase player participation at all levels; proven administrative and managerial ability; and good communication skills.

The post is managed and funded by Yorkshire Cricket Board through the Chance to Shine Programme with the successful applicant being required to work directly with local special needs schools and cricket clubs supporting disability cricket.

Applicants will need energy and enthusiasm to support the development of disability cricket in schools, clubs and the community as part of an established and successful team.

A key focus for the post will be to lead disability community programmes in South & West Yorkshire; to lead and coach on “A Chance to Shine” Disability Programme around South and West Yorkshire covering 20 schools; to capture disability customer insight, facilitating and activating programmes based on this insight; organise and co-ordinate the running of Inter outdoor/Inter indoor cricket festivals including disability county festivals; to deliver and monitor high quality programmes linking clubs, schools and the community to increase opportunities for young disabled people to engage and participation in sport and cricket.

Playing and coaching experience, with a UK Level 2 qualification are essential criteria for these posts.

The post is for 37 hours a week, for an initial contract of one year commencing December or as soon as possible.
