The Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) is the governing body of cricket in the state of Western Australia, home to WA’s elite teams, the Warriors and the Western Fury, and the T20 Big Bash League’s Perth Scorchers. It oversees the development of the game across a variety of metro and regional areas, age groups and communities. The WACA’s vision is to make cricket Australia’s favourite sport, in conjunction with Cricket Australia, and to be the leaders across national team representation, elite team success, participation, engagement and fan experience.

We are currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person to take on the full time role of Game Development Officer – Female Cricket.

The key responsibility of this role is to coordinate and implement plans to increase the participation of females into the game of cricket. The successful applicant will be identifying new opportunities and competition formats to promote female cricket development programs. You will also be working with Community Clubs and Boards to influence club input into participation programs.

We are looking for someone who has initiative, has had exposure implementing successful sporting programs and who is passionate about increasing participation of females in sport.

The willingness to be hands-on is really important, as you will be conducting female cricket completions, carnivals and delivering school programs. You will be the main point of contact for females transitioning from school based programs to community cricket.

Whilst a background in cricket will be useful, it is not as essential as having a passion for engaging females in sport. An innovative approach to attracting females to cricket will be highly regarded. Highly developed interpersonal skills, demonstrated relationship building abilities and a valid Working with Children Check is essential.

To also be successful in this role, you will have strong administration skills, proactive and organised with intermediate MS Office skills.

If you are ready for a rewarding challenge, send your application in confidence to hr@waca.com.au
