Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Be the brand´s face and voice, internally and externally, in India. Contribute to the development of the Brand's global go-to-market plan, drive its implementation in India and grow the business vertically.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the global strategic planning for the Brand via dotted line into the Brand Director - Emerging Markets
  • Sharpen the Brand's positioning/ perception, while strengthening its connection to athletes, consumers and other sport stakeholders, in the Market.
  • Drive implementation of go-to-Market plans by sub-brand and/or Business Unit, including account plans by Category
  • Lead and coordinate the alignment of global/local concept priorities and the identification of key business drivers throughout the Market
  • Represent the commercial and product needs of the Market to the Global Brand Concept-to-Consumer team
  • Constantly analyse business performance and seize business opportunities across the Markets to meet and/or exceed KPIs and financial targets
  • Lead and steer the Market range selection process with an aim to optimize efficiency based on the Global range in coordination with the Emerging Markets
  • Lead and steer the execution of global and local brand and sports marketing strategies/concepts
  • Drive the Market's Strategic Business Plan to ensure alignment between go-to-Market strategies and the financial targets
  • Effectively manage the assigned Marketing Working Budget, optimizing its ROI.
  • Be the communication point between the Market Managing Director and the Emerging Markets brand team.
  • Drive consumer/channel matrix management and ensure the Market has the proper tools and support to effectively implement the go-to-Market plan
  • Guide and support the global Cricket category manger in development of the global cricket range with special emphasis on India market requirements
  • Provide a clear vision and direction to the Market teams with relevant objectives and KPIs.
  • Establish a high performance culture and drive employee engagement, leading by example.
  • Provide a suitable performance framework for direct reports by setting SMART performance targets and coaching for continuous improvement.
  • Identify and develop high-potential talents, to fuel the team's succession plan.
  • Look for opportunities to provide cross-functional experiences to identified high-potential talents from both, in and outside of the team.

  • Market Sales vs Plan
  • Market Direct Brand Contribution vs Plan
  • Brand Health KPIs (Brand momentum, Net Promoter Score, Spontaneous purchase intent)
  • Market Share
  • Efficient activation of consumer (MROI)
  • Range Size and Efficiency (incl. overlap)
  • SMU hit rate

 

Key Relationships:

  • Market peers (India Functional Heads) reporting to the India MD
  • Brand Directors in each market within Emerging Markets
  • Global Concepts-to-Consumer team
  • Global Brand Management team
  • Global BUs
  • Global Sales Strategy & Excellence team

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership & management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement strategy
  • Broad Marketing experience, with a distinct track record of success and high-level Merchandising knowledge 
  • Strong communication skills with his/her direct reports,  and with all the  counterparts he/she will have to influence and work with (Sales, Retail, Finance, Operations)
  • Cross functional experience, across merchandising, marketing, sales and retail, and if possible, Finance
  • Strong industry knowledge, across divisions—footwear, apparel and accessories—and across all BUs
  • Expert understanding of local Market´s’ consumers, accounts, economic environment and commercial needs

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:  

  • University degree in Business or a minimum of 10 years equivalent professional experience, ideally in Sales and/or Marketing
  • Sporting goods industry experience required
  • 10 - 12 years of cross functional experience in merchandising/product, marketing, sales/retail required
  • Fluent in English
