Closing date: 20th February 2015

The Lancashire Cricket Board wishes to appoint an Honorary Treasurer, which is a volunteer role, to succeed the present Honorary Treasurer who wishes to retire after occupying the post since the Board was formed in 1996.

The present Treasurer has agreed to a hand over period to support the person appointed.

A qualified member of a CCAB body would be preferred, but consideration will also be given to persons with appropriate financial experience.

The LCB has grown substantially over the last few years and now has an annual turnover of £1.3M and employs 25 members of staff.  It is responsible for all Recreational cricket in an area with a population of 5.5M stretching from the Cumbria border through Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside (North of the River Mersey).  It is based at the County ground Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester, but staff work in various parts of the Board's area.

The day to day financial administration is carried out by an experienced Finance Officer, employed by the Board on a part time basis, who is a qualified accountant.  This includes payments, income, banking and accounting up to and including the production of monthly monitoring statements for budget holders, produced through a computerised TAS Accounting system.  Payroll and HR services are provided to the Board by the Lancashire County Cricket Club on an agency basis.

The role of the Honorary Treasurer is mainly the production of annual budgets in conjunction with the Managing Director; the completion of the year end accounts and liaising with the Auditors; regular monthly monitoring of expenditure and income; and reporting to Board meetings held six weekly. The Board also has 3 Committees which meet in total on 10 evenings in the year and attendance is at the Treasurer's own discretion. (Role Description and Person Specification provided below).

The Board incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee in 2010, and its annual accounts are prepared under the special provisions relating to small companies.  The Treasurer is a Director of the Company and the present occupant also acts as Company Secretary.
