CRICKET JOBS: GM - Kei CB (SA)

Kei Cricket Board is an Associate of Cricket South Africa and is currently being managed by Border Cricket NPC.

The Directors are embarking on an exercise to appoint a dynamic and visionary General Manager to lead Kei Cricket into the future.

Applications are invited for this position, and in order to qualify you will need the following:

1. A matric certificate and B. Com Degree.

2. A minimum three (3) years plus in a Management position

3. Strategic accounting, budgeting and financial control

4. Extensive experience on ERP and MIS systems

5. Talent management and development

6. Strong leadership qualities especially the ability to give direction to a team of individual contributors.

7. Well-developed technical and operational competencies with sufficient balance between the attentions to detail required for the role, as well as the ability to delegate and maintain overall oversight of the business.

8. Have the ability to interact with and develop relationships at all levels within the club membership as well as at all levels with external third parties, partners, sponsors and employees.

9. Fluent in English, conversational in Xhosa

10. The successful candidate will be required to fulfill, amongst others, the following responsibilities:

 

a. To plan, lead, manage, organise, safeguard and control all the resources at Kei Cricket’s disposal and to promote and protect the interests of its members, its employees and the public, ensuring that a positive attitude and response will be projected at all times.

b. Together with the Directors, set the vision for the company and develop the strategies for it to not only fulfill its mandate to its members, but to grow its financial base outside of standard operations.

c. Translate the strategy of the company into an effective operational plan with clear deliverables, responsibilities and timelines for each member of staff.

d. Develop annual zero based budgets and be responsible for their control

e. Be the custodian of corporate governance and ethical values

f. Review all contractual obligations (both documented and verbal) that Kei Cricket Board has in place with its employees and third parties and comment on any potential risk these obligations may entail

g. Build an empowering people management culture at Kei Cricket

h. Build and maintain sound relationships with members and external stakeholders

i. Work closely with existing and potential sponsors of Kei Cricket.

j. Ensure a co-operative working relationship with the Directors, members and employees to ensure that the company delivers its mandate to its members.

k. Represent the company on matters requiring liaison with suppliers, contractors, associate groups and other bodies, as well as other designated assignments as directed

l. Be a visible presence at representative sporting fixtures, and develop a culture of commitment to the members’ needs

m. Sets an example to all other staff by their own dedication, commitment and application

 

Remuneration will be market related, based on the experience of the successful applicant.

Start date: Preferably 1 March 2015
