CRICKET JOBS: Development Events Manager - ICC (UAE)

The International Cricket Council (“ICC”) is the global governing body for the sport, which administers all aspects of international cricket. The role will be based at our headquarters in Dubai.

We are currently looking for a Development Events Manager who will be primarily responsible for overseeing the ICC’s development event structures, including the Intercontinental Cup and World Cricket League, as well as regional qualifying events.

Principal Accountabilities

Responsibilities of the Development Events Manager will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage the ICC’s programme of development events, including budget, planning and implementation and, in some cases, on-ground operations.
  • Assist with the delivery of ICC major events, as and when required. 
  • Establish and review protocols and guidelines to ensure development events are delivered efficiently and to a high standard. 
  • Review, develop and implement development event hosting and participation agreements.
  • Monitor ICC’s player eligibility processes for Associate and Affiliate Members, including maintenance of the ICC player eligibility database.
  • In conjunction with the ICC cricket operations department, manage the ICC Associate and Affiliate international umpires’ panel and produce development event playing conditions. 
  • Work closely with a range of diverse stakeholders, including ICC Member event hosts, participating teams and officials and various ICC departments.

Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Experience

  • Experience managing sporting events that cross geographical and cultural boundaries 
  • Excellent event planning skills, including strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and experience working with volunteers
  • A strong knowledge of cricket, including its playing conditions, and an understanding of the ICC’s global development activities
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills
  • Ability to work internationally, and experience working with people from different cultures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including proven writing ability
  • A team player that is also self-motivated and can work independently 
  • Degree level education in a relevant discipline

Conditions of employment

  • The position reports to the ICC’s Head of Global Development and is based in Dubai. International travel is, however, required. 
  • The selected candidate to furnish two recent work references.
  • Compensation offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
