CRICKET JOBS: Anti Corruption Manager, 2 posts - ICC (Worldwide)

The International Cricket Council (“ICC”) is the global governing body for the sport, which administers all aspects of international cricket. Protecting the reputation and integrity of the game of cricket is a critical part of the ICC’s mandate. This mandate is implemented and reinforced by the Anti Corruption Unit (ACSU).

We are currently looking for two Anti-Corruption Managers. Both successful candidates will continue to be based in their current home country and will be required to operate as independent consultants to the ACSU. 

 

Principal Accountabilities 

The Anti-Corruption Managers will be required to: 

  • Attend match fixtures (International Test, ODI and Twenty/20 or any other matches) as determined by the ACSU General Manager 
  • Implement and enforce all aspects of the ICC Anti-Corruption policies. 
  • Audit all match venues to ensure compliance of ‘Minimum Standards’ for the prevention of corruption, as prescribed by the ACSU and approved by the ICC Executive Board. 
  • Liaise with local police and law enforcement agencies to co-ordinate preventive measures against corruption in cricket. 
  • Develop reliable sources of information within the sport and related professions within the betting industry, who may be able to assist in investigations. 
  • Educate various stakeholders, including players, match officials, Board members and senior police officers, on corruption and related issues. 
  • Provide assistance to the general Manager - ACSU and other Investigators, for investigation or enforcing anti-corruption measures. 
  • Submit regular periodical reports to the ACSU HQ 
  • Interview suspects, record statements of witnesses and conduct part-investigations tasked by HQ 
  • Liaise with Police Officers enquiring into cricket-related corruption. 
  • Provide any other support to the ACSU as required. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Experience 

  • Unquestionable integrity 
  • Sound intelligence and leadership skills with ability to adapt and work independently, in different countries and different cultures. 
  • Familiarity with modern surveillance techniques and use of technical assistance. 
  • Experience of handling difficult and possibly unreliable informants. 
  • Ability to make presentations to varied audiences 
  • Ability to handle situations with tact as well as firmness. 
  • A good understanding of the game of cricket and the betting industry. 
  • Ability to work at odd and extended hours. 

 

Conditions of employment 

  • The positions will be based from home and will report to the General Manager - ACSU 
  • The selected candidates will be asked to furnish two recent work references. 
  • Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
