Casual Community Cricket Coaches Flexible Hours per week £15 p/h 

A number of vacancies have arisen within Cricket Wales and Glamorgan Cricket for Casual Community Cricket Coaches. 

The areas that coaches are required are Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, Bridgend and Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Cricket Wales is the National Governing Body for junior and senior recreational cricket in Wales. Cricket Wales exists to Lead, Inspire and Influence the Growth, Quality and Accessibility of Cricket in Wales. Glamorgan County Cricket Club is the only professional team in Wales and plays a vital role in promoting our national summer sport throughout Wales. 

Glamorgan Cricket’s mission is to develop cricket as the national summer sport of Wales from the playground to the SWALEC Stadium.

Job Title: Casual Community Cricket Coach/es

Reporting to: Cricket Wales Cricket Development Officer (CDO) for Cardiff, the Vale and Mid Glamorgan and/or Commercial and Community Manager, Glamorgan Cricket.

Cricket Wales and Glamorgan Cricket are looking to employ a number of casual community cricket coaches throughout Cardiff, The Vale of Glamorgan, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Bridgend to support our development programmes. Hours can be flexible and coaches will be paid an hourly rate of £15 p/h.

 

Main Responsibility

To deliver cricket sessions in schools and community settings to engage children and young people and promote cricket activity.

Responsibilities to support the above outcome

1 To deliver community coaching sessions in identified schools, clubs and a range of community environments;

2 To widen access to cricket for specific target groups including girls, people with a disability, Black, Minority & Ethnic Groups and disadvantage communities.

3 To deliver and support cricket competition within (intra) and between (inter) participating schools;

4 To mentor teachers, youth workers and club coaches to deliver high quality cricket activities;

5 To deliver cricket activity at the SWALEC Stadium for both Glamorgan matches and international cricket matches;

6 Work alongside partners capable of contributing towards cricket and adding value to the existing cricket offer (E.G. Sports Development, Communities First, Street Games, Cardiff City Football Foundation);

7 To promote Glamorgan Cricket membership, attendance at matches and other Glamorgan promotional initiatives at all identified schools and clubs, so as to develop links between local schools, clubs and Glamorgan Cricket, and to inspire children to develop within the game;

8 To complete monitoring and other reports as required by participating funding partners;
