An outstanding fast medium bowler for Somerset and England, Caddick took over 1500 top level wickets with more than 300 in international cricket. Noted for his consistency, he took 105 wickets in the 1998 season and was a Wisden cricketer of the year in 2001.

After retiring in 2009, Caddick has turned to coaching young players to become fast and consistent bowlers in the same mould.
