Coaching Philosophy

"To make batting easier by training batters to hit between mid on and mid off to the highest technical standard possible."

Gary's coaching is based on one thing: proven results. He knows the secret to success is to have a good technique that holds up under pressure. Testimonials

"Gary has been innovative, enthusiastic and totally involved in what he is doing. He has been well received by all members of the Australian team and we would utilise his services whereever possible in the future."
Steve Waugh, former Australian cricket captain.

"I have known Gary Palmer as a coach and friend and I have always found his enthusiasm for the game infectious. He has an active cricket mind. Gary has assisted with the pre-season preparation of the professionals at Sussex and his input has been excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend Gary."
Peter Moores, former coach Sussex CCC and England.

"Having worked with Gary on numerous occasions, I have learnt a tremendous amount about batting. He has not only shown me drills that are required to rectify batting faults but drills to extend batsmen to improve their game. It is such a shame that I didn't have Gary as a coach when I was at the top of my game and still playing first class cricket as I'm sure I would have scored a lot more runs."
Richard Illingworth, Worcestershire and England..

"I have had the pleasure of working with Gary on several occasions. He is constantly trying to move players forward using both simple and innovative batting drills. I certainly would have liked to have spent some coaching time with him when I was playing professionally."
David Hemp, Glamorgan CCC

"Gary has always impressed me as an innovative coach with an extensive knowledge. I believe he has the ability to coach players of the highest standard."
Mick Newell, Director of Cricket Nottinghamshire CCC

"I had the pleasure of working with Gary Palmer as a build up to the new season. Gary introduced me to drills that constantly built up technique and then tested it under pressure situations. The best part of working with Gary was his enthusiasm for the game and his ability solving technical problems. Having played professionally for 15 years and opened the batting for Worcestershire and Gloucestershire his coaching has rekindled my thirst for runs."
Phil Weston, Gloucestershire CCC.

"Gary Palmer's broad knowledge and enthusiasm is infectious. His ideas are innovative. In my capacity as head coach of Middlesex CCC I have used Gary on several occasions.  I would fully recommend Gary to anyone looking for a top cricket coach."
John Emburey, Middlesex and England.

"As head coach of the MCC I have worked with Gary Palmer for a number of years. On the evidence of his coaching here at Lord's I would not hesitate to recommend him."
Clive Radley, former MCC Head Coach.

"Gary was employed with Gloucestershire CCC as Batting Coach. His coaching sessions are designed to really test the batsmanship of the players and encouraged a greater understanding of each other's games. I recommend Gary as a skilful, enthusiastic and innovative coach."
Mark Alleyne, Head Coach Gloucestershire CCC

"I have known Gary for a number of years. He has an obvious great passion for the game and is always keen to develop new ideas. He possesses knowledge in fielding, batting and bowling to contribute to any level of the game."
John Wright, former coach of India

"If you're reading this and wondering - 'is it worth it?' Don't waste any more time: It is! Gary's coaching was a revelation. When my son Jack first went to Gary it was as a bowler who needed 'a lot of work' (as Gary rightly said) on his batting. Now he is a genuine all-rounder whose technical batting skills have been developed and taken to a new level. Jack has now joined the Cumbria under-17 squad."
John White, father to Jack

"I am quite sure that it will not be too long before we see a test cricketer coming out of Gary Palmer's Academy. His boundless enthusiasm and energy naturally rubs off on the boys and results in their willingness to work at their games for 6 hours a day. The result of this tireless approach to improving technique is plain to see. Some of the boys are probably some of the best cricketers for their age in the country. Very refreshing."
Alan Wells, former captain Sussex CCC
