Scottish Borders Junior Cricket Development Group are currently looking for an administrator to assist with the running of junior cricket across the Scottish Borders. 

Post Title: Scottish Borders Junior Cricket Development Group Administrator

Location: Work remotely

Reports to: SBJCDG Chairman

Immediate Supervisor: SBJCDG Chairman

Basic Hours: Approximately 2 hours per week

Remuneration: £500

Purpose of the Job

The SBJCDG Administrator will be responsible for the key secretarial and treasurer duties for the Group. You will work in conjunction with the key office bearers and the East Regional Participation Manager to ensure the smooth operation of junior cricket programmes in the Scottish Borders. The post holder will be responsible for delivering the tasks set out below.

Major Tasks

Secretarial Duties

  • Responsible for completing and circulating all draws and ground allocations for Borders Junior Cricket League competitions – Kwik Cricket Festivals and U14 League. Issue weekly reminders to teams to ensure completion of all matches
  • Collate all match results from Festivals, U14 League and Representative Matches. Circulate, and post on website, updated league tables and results on a regular basis
  • Book facilities for matches, trainings and holiday camps as requested by the group
  • Circulate meeting agendas to clubs and take meeting minutes to be approved at the following meeting
  • Keep current databases of the following:

* Representative Players

* Coaching and Umpiring Course attendees

  • Liaise with committee members, Borders clubs, Cricket Scotland RPM, and other cricket bodies as needed throughout the year

Treasurer Duties

  • Keep up to date records of all the financial transactions 
  • Deal efficiently and effectively with all invoices and bills
  • Issue receipts and record all money received
  • Attend all committee meetings and present up to date financial reports
  • Prepare the end of year accounts to present to the auditors

Skills/Experience Required

  • Experience in financial record keeping. Confident in handling figures and money, and in keeping accurate records
  • IT literate including use of Microsoft Office programmes
  • Well organised, excellent communicator and enjoys working with people
  • Honest, reliable and prepared to make a regular time commitment
