An exciting opportunity has arisen for a cricket coach to advance the development of the game for young people and adults. The main objective will be to increase the participation levels in Newcastle and North Tyneside.

The individual would be expected to provide coaching activities, games, festivals and competitions as well as promote opportunities for volunteering. All activity will link into local club and county board programmes which promote access to sustainable participation.

As part of the board's Outcomes Framework, there has been a clearly identified need to raise the profile of cricket for those who would traditionally have dropped out of the game. The research has indicated that more local opportunities need to be provided, using innovative and informal formats of the game to grow involvement.

  •     Working alongside the Northumberland Cricket Board Officers to deliver high quality coaching and recruit support staff to voluntary roles for the programmes
  •     Organising and leading the young people and adult programmes within Newcastle and North Tyneside (including training, matches, events in schools and community settings) including Chance to Shine and MCC Foundation Hub Programme.

  •      Producing reports and other material promoting the young people and programmes
  •     Developing partnerships with clubs who support the development of young people and adult cricket
  •     Increasing awareness of cricket
  •     Maintaining high standards of behaviour, discipline, and child welfare
