Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket is now accepting applications for the role of Chief Executive.

Based: Leicester

Competitive Package

Leicestershire County Cricket Club is one of the 18 first class county clubs which make up the English and Welsh national cricket structure, representing the historic county of Leicestershire. Success in the last decade has been in the form of Twenty20 Cup cricket, reaching each of the first four Finals Days and lifting the trophy twice in three years, at Edgbaston in 2004, Trent Bridge in 2006 and again at Edgbaston in 2011. They remain the only County to have won the T20 three times.

Leicestershire County Cricket Club and The Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Board are going to merge under the title of Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket from the first of October 2014 with the objective to develop not only the professional game of cricket but also the recreational game across both counties. Both organisations are to work together in the community and to be relevant to the community under the leadership of a new CEO.

Setting the strategy and providing leadership for both organisations, the CEO will have specific responsibility for the following:

  • Leicestershire Cricket Business Strategy
  • Management and Leadership
  • Commercial Operations, Marketing and Communications
  • Partnerships and Stakeholders
  • Ground Development
  • HR
  • Health and Safety.

Put simply, the role will lead the new organisation through a phase of considerable change and development with the expectation of improved performances on and off the field.

Naturally the expectations of the new CEO will be high and although experience of professional cricket is not essential, you must have proven managerial and commercial experience at a senior level. This will have included setting strategies, leading a team and delivering forecasted results.

Given the multi-stakeholder environment of professional cricket, this role requires a determined and charismatic personality with the ability to motivate all participants.

If you have the qualities required and the desire to succeed in the business of sport please send your CV to: Peter Tucker at Novo Executive Search and Selection at peter@novoexec.com
