CRICKET JOBS: Digital and Social Media Officer - ICC

The International Cricket Council (“ICC”) is the global governing body for the sport, which administers all aspects of international cricket. The Commercial Department strives to optimize commercial opportunities for the benefit of the game. The role will be based at our headquarters in Dubai, and preference will be given to candidates who are already based in the United Arab Emirates. 

We are currently looking for a Digital & Social Media Officer within the Commercial department who will assist Media Rights, Broadcast & Digital team. The primary role will be content management of ICC’s corporate and event websites, management of ICC’s social media, digital platforms and support towards editorial for ICC’s weekly audio-visual magazine show, ICC Cricket 360°. 

Principal Accountabilities 

Responsibilities of the Digital & Social Media Officer include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Management of the ICC website; 
  • Management of ICC’s social media platforms; 
  • Lead on content creation across digital and social media platforms; 
  • Lead on content creation and content seeding for all digital properties, including event-based digital activations; 
  • Regular research and benchmarking analysis of ICC digital properties; 
  • Liaise with various ICC event Local Organising Committees, Member Boards and partners on digital planning, content sharing and promotion; 
  • Support the Media Rights & Broadcast Officer in overseeing editorial and content delivery of ICC Cricket 360°; 
  • Support in the implementation of the ICC Digital Strategy; 

Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Experience 

  • A minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in the digital or broadcast industry, ideally working with or for a sports platform or channel, reputed broadcast production house or digital arm of a professional sports club or an international sports federation. 
  • Good understanding of current digital and social media trends, challenges and opportunities in sport and familiarity with the relevant tools and technologies. 
  • Affinity for cricket and a genuine interest in the sports business is advantageous. 
  • Proven project and budgetary management skills and good attention to detail. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially fluency in written and spoken English. 
  • Motivated, enthusiastic attitude, and able to work creatively on own initiative. 
  • Good team player with a flexible approach. 

Conditions of employment 

  • The position is based in Dubai and will report to the Media Rights and Broadcast Manager 
  • The selected candidate to furnish two recent work references. 
  • Compensation offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
