The GM Community Cricket will develop, implement and monitor strategies to enable all Major Associations (MAs) to deliver agreed community cricket priorities, including governance, administration, financial and relationship management. Support of the MAs includes support of the clubs and districts that are the membership of the MA.

A key part of the role will be to work with MAs to ensure implementation of development strategies, including reviewing the delivery of agreed strategies by Clubs and Districts and liaising with all parties to ensure that any difficulties in implementation are addressed, mentoring key staff to achieve strategic objectives.
 
The GM Community Cricket will act as the “champion” for community cricket - men’s and women’s; senior and junior - in NZC and the wider cricket and sports community, and will promote the growth of the game of cricket at grassroots level; from the traditional club and school cricket to the various modified versions that appeal to a changing diverse population.
 
To be considered for this role you will ideally be tertiary qualified with demonstrated success in the management and administration of sport at a senior management level.  You’ll need to be a dynamic leader with energy and an ability to swiftly build relationships and credibility as a trusted mentor and ‘go-to’ person for MAs, Districts and Clubs, as well as providing exceptional service to, and optimising the contribution from, a diverse range of stakeholders in a variety of presentation settings.  You’ll also need a good understanding of modern sports governance and running SME business, with the ability to mentor diverse personalities who operate at GM or CEO level in their businesses.  Your commercial acumen and ability to make links between strategic and business plans will be matched with a strong focus on innovation management to create a learning and participative environment.
