The Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) is the governing body for cricket in the state of Western Australia (WA). The WACA is home to WA’s elite teams, the Alcohol.Think Again Warriors and the Alcohol.Think Again Western Fury, as well as the Big Bash League’s Perth Scorchers whose female team will compete in the new Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) to be launched in 2015-16. It oversees the development of the game of cricket throughout WA and works in conjunction with Cricket Australia to make cricket Australia’s favourite sport. The WACA’s vision is to be leaders in Australian cricket in the areas of national team representation, elite team success, participation, engagement and fan experience.

The WACA has a fantastic opportunity for a professional cricket coach to join the High Performance department as Head Coach – Western Fury & Perth Scorchers (WBBL).

The key role responsibilities include:

•     Lead, manage and coach the Western Fury and Perth Scorchers (WBBL) programs.
•     Deliver the Australian Cricket Performance Program and other Cricket Australia initiatives as they relate to the Western Fury and Perth Scorchers (WBBL) programs.
•     Contribute to the development, management and integration of a sustainable female high performance pathway.
•     Manage the involvement of specialist coaches and other support as part of a holistic and integrated approach to player development.
•     Coordinate squad and team selections and contribute to the identification of players throughout the pathway.
•     Develop a high performance culture amongst staff, players, teams and the WA female cricket network.

Reporting to the General Manager – High Performance, this full-time fixed term coaching contract will suit an inspiring and accomplished leader with a passion for female cricket. The position presents an outstanding opportunity for the successful candidate to play a key role in the success of the Western Fury, the new Perth Scorchers WBBL team and the development of female Australian cricketers.
