CRICKET JOBS: Human Resources Officer - Barbados Cricket Ass. (WI)

The Barbados Cricket Association (BCA has created the new position of Human Resources Officer and is seeking to recruit a motivated individual with proven knowledge and understanding of working in a dynamic environment such as exists at the BCA and at its subsidiary, Cricket Franchise of (Barbados) Inc.

The position of Human Resources Officer will report to the CEO.

This is a senior position which requires an individual who can develop, advise and implement policies relating to the effective use of personnel within an organization.

The key duties, responsibilities and accountabilities will include:

  • Overseeing the effective implementation and administration of human resources policies, programmes and practices
  • Assisting in the recruitment of staff, including the development of job descriptions, preparing job advertisements and shortlisting applicants
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of policies on issues such as working conditions and performance management, taking into consideration relevant employment laws
  • Dealing with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures.
  • Advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits
  • Maintaining employee records and assisting in the preparation of staff handbooks
  • Developing with department managers, HR planning strategies which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements;
  • Analyzing training needs in conjunction with departmental managers
  • Planning and sometimes delivering training, including inductions for new staff;
  • Overseeing the administration of the Pension and Medical Plans

Desired Requirements:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Studies or any related subject.
  • A thorough background in human resources management and practices with at least five (5) years at the senior managerial level
  • Experience in industrial relations, excellent knowledge of the labour laws and very good negotiation skills
  • Experience in Compensation and Benefits Management
  • Ability to manage and maintain confidential information as well as employ ethical and honest practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish and build good relationships with both internal and external customers.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary for this position will be competitive and will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience and skills.
