CRICKET JOBS: Head Coach - Surrey Womens Cricket (UK)

Salary: up to £3,500 / approx £140 per day
Short Fixed Term: Working 25 days from July – August 2016

The Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a successful Surrey Women’s Super League Team which delivers sustained success. The Head Coach will have overall responsibility for the performance and management of the team and will lead a team of specialist coaches and support staff. The Head Coach will be responsible for developing players who will go on to represent England.


Main Duties

  • lead, develop and maintain a successful winning playing squad
  • develop and maximise the talents, techniques and character of the players
  • develop players who will represent England at all levels of competition
  • provide line management support and stretch the coaching staff
  • create a professional and hard working culture and environment
  • create good working relationship with the Performance Team being aware at all times of the emerging talent coming through the system
  • lead, organise and deliver training and coaching programmes with support and sports science staff
  • communicate regularly with coaching and medical/ support staff on form and fitness of players
  • at all times to be an ambassador of the Club and for professional cricket setting a good example to players

The Person

The successful candidate will have the following experience / skills / qualities:

Essential

  • minimum of Level 3 Coaching Qualification or its International equivalent (Level 4 preferred)
  • proven track record in coaching First Class/International men’s and/or women’s cricket
  • outstanding communicator with influential people skills who is capable of managing a competitive environment and developing self reliant players
  • ability to lead a team of specialist coaches and support staff and will be responsible for defining their roles, performance and their ongoing development
  • strong organisational skills and tactical strengths
  • a clear knowledge, understanding and vision for Women’s cricket
