Closing date: 14th November 2014

Salary: £10,920per annum, part time (3 days / 21hrs per week), plus mileage allowance

Fixed term 2 year contract (with possibility of extending)

Required for January 2015

The Norfolk Cricket Board seeks to employ a highly motivated and competent Participation & Retention Officer to work as part of their cricket development team.

The newly appointed person will join an existing cricket development team and will be responsible for supporting the work of the Cricket Development Manager (CDM) and Cricket Development Officer (CDO) in delivering the strategic plans of the County Cricket Board specifically relating to the areas of adult participation and player retention.

The successful candidate is likely to have a good level of coaching experience, particularly in environments involving participants of 14yrs and above, as well as the ability to administer these programmes. The role will focus in large part on competition administration and delivery. Experience of working with key partners to effect increasing participation in cricket would be an advantage.

You will need to be passionate about and committed to the development of cricket at a local level across a range of participation categories. The role will often require delivery of new and innovative forms of cricket outside of the traditional ‘Club and league cricket’ model.

Candidates must demonstrate both team working skills and the ability to work unsupervised and on their own initiative. Experience of managing small to medium sized projects and events to demonstrate sound organisation and planning is required. Excellent communication, presentation and IT skills will be expected. Applicants must hold a full driving license, have access to transport and be able / willing to work some evenings and weekends.

In the event that the successful candidate already carries out coaching work for the Board we may wish to consider merging the two roles into one post. Similarly, if the successful candidate does not currently carry out coaching work for the Board but has the qualifications to do so we may wish to include an additional coaching role within an extended role.

The role will be based at the Norfolk Cricket Board Offices (Horsford CC from Dec 2014) although home working is also possible. Much of the work will be ‘in the field’. The post is for a 24-month fixed term post from the start date. For further information on the role or to request an application form and job specification, please contact:
