CRICKET JOBS: Regional Growth Executive - ECB (UK)

Role: To help deliver the national strategy for inclusion & diversity in Cricket, through the regional hubs and county networks supporting growth within the game through traditional and non-traditional delivery agents from grassroots to elite cricket increasing participation for :- Women & Girls, Disability, multi-cultural communities and casual cricket.

Objectives:

  •     To help implement the national strategies for growth specifically for:- Women & Girls, Disability, multicultural communities and casual cricket through a network of county organisations.
  •     To help diversify the participation base for the growth agenda by developing new formats of the game led by insight.
  •     Working alongside regional and county colleagues help support the delivery of the regional business plan and county strategic plans to grow participation for targeted segments.
  •     Act as the technical lead within the region to provide vision and clarity for the growth strategies, and help implement any national programmes / initiatives through regional and county networks.
  •     Actively promote and grow the game by working with regional and county based organisations to empower  under represented and disadvantaged (urban or rural) communities to  take a more active role in Cricket whether playing, administrating or watching the game.
  •     Actively work with key counties harnessing the power of the KIA Super league as a key driver for maximising growth opportunities for Women & Girls Cricket.
  •     Actively work with key counties to harness the growth opportunities for multicultural societies, and in particular the core cities identified and invested to substantially grow participation for South Asian Cricketers.
  •     Through the counties and regions drive an inclusive culture for Disability Cricket across the game and help lead opportunities for pan disability from grass roots to elite cricket opportunities for, but not exclusively:- Visual, Hearing, Learning and behavioural impairments and table cricket.
  •     Working collectively with the Regional Youth Participation Executive, ensure that the growth segments support and enhance the 5+ offer.
  •     Pilot new formats of the game to create a social cricket revolution and paradigm shift embedding the growth agenda into the hearts and minds of our counties.
  •     Be innovative and creative exploring new opportunities for growth in non-traditional formats by developing tailored programmes to inspire people to take part informally through back yard, beach, tapeball, urban & indoor cricket and expand our artificial turf offers.
  •     Work across the counties and regions and identify economies of scale and opportunities to stream line delivery mechanisms.
  •     Working closely with regional and county colleagues to support a seamless transition from new and emerging programmes into mainstream clubs and leagues structures where appropriate.
  •     Work closely with the competition and regional performance managers to ensuring player pathways are aligned and fully integrated for the growth agendas.
  •     Through the use of social media and information technology identify and manipulate emerging trends through a variety of digital platforms, capturing social participation
  •     Complete appropriate monitoring & evaluation in line with funding requirements including online monitoring platforms and finance return tools.
  •     Exploit media, national and global events, competitions, promotional campaigns/materials and use cricket ambassadors to be reflective of inclusion and diversity within Cricket.
  •     Proactively engage with the Facilities Team, Sport England, Local Authorities (Planning departments), Local Education Authorities, Protecting playing fields, Fields in Trust, etc. to continue to develop appropriate facilities in areas of high growth potential.
  •     Identify regional and county workforce needs reflecting the skills and abilities required to help drive the growth agenda through our delivery networks.
  •     Lead a joined up network through regional forums to continue to consult and engage with internal and external  stakeholders sharing best practice and developing new ideas and tools for delivery making cricket the sport of choice.

Complexity
 
The complexity of working with non -traditional participants and communities in Cricket is a unique within the business, this is a key role to drive the inclusion and diversity agenda and create a more equitable offer for our customers.
 
 
Impact
 
The role has a direct impact on the success and growth of our business by making the case for equity within our sport and growing the game for cricketers from the most disadvantaged and underrepresented groups at county level.
 
The role impacts across counties and regions.
 
 
Influence
 
The role holder will be required to influence at regional and county level implementing the specific growth strategies for cricket in England & Wales
At Regional and county level working with colleagues to shape programmes for delivery through our county board networks, and finally at county level, influencing and shaping county board offers.
 
 
Resource
 
The role holder has responsibility for the assembling of the insight, offers, and the resources to support it at county and regional level.
 
 
Other
 
Whilst this role specification is generic across the regions, the percentage of time the post holder will dedicate to specific growth areas will be determined by the county and regional infrastructure for existing and potential growth segments.
 
It is anticipated that post holder will service all growth segments  however,  where there is significant potential growth identified  in regions which have Women’s Super League, or  Core City funding for South Asians the officer will dedicate more time to these specialisms.
 
The post holder will be required to service the growth segments through a variety of options for maximum impact this may include County and Regional ambassadors where third party funders or county boards pool resources for economies of scale
 
The regional officer for growth will need to be flexible and adaptable to work across the growth segments to achieve maximum impact.
