Queensland Cricket is responding to the increasing popularity of cricket by placing greater emphasis on its Game Development activities. Game Development is responsible for promoting and developing the game amongst the younger generation, as well as across both genders and within Australia's indigenous and multicultural communities.

As part of this greater commitment to "growing Australia's favourite game", particularly in regional Queensland, Queensland Cricket is seeking outstanding candidates to fill two Regional Development Manager positions.

Reporting to the State Field Force Manager, the Regional Development Managers will be responsible for substantially increasing participation levels and for building cricketing skills across all forms of the game within a defined geographical region.

  • Directly, and through field force staff, building, maintaining and leveraging key strategic regional stakeholder relationships including government, business, clubs, associations, multicultural groups and the media.
  • Managing the region's costs that are directly controllable within agreed financial parameters.
Apart from an unquestioned passion for, and knowledge of sport, successful candidates must have an appreciation of the strategies needed to attract new participants and retain emerging talent.

The Regional Development Managers will also need outstanding communications skills including the verbal and presentation skills necessary to build, maintain and leverage stakeholder relationships across the community.

In addition they will need the leadership skills necessary to provide direction, support and development for field based staff as well as the financial skills to frame sound budget submissions, generate accurate forecasts and manage within agreed financial parameters.
