Lord’s Ground, the most famous cricket ground in the world, and owned by Marylebone Cricket Club (the Club), is an exceptional venue with a wealth of experience in delivering high quality hospitality, corporate and private events, supported by our Catering, Hospitality and Meeting and Events team.

 

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the Staffing Team at Lord’s on a one year fixed term contract. The successful candidate will take ownership of the administration and coordination of catering staff rotas and staff check-ins for all Meetings and Events business; ensuring staff of the highest calibre are resourced at all times. The role will also focus on the administration of new starters, casual worker records and agency workers. Additional key responsibilities include maintenance of a generic mailbox, handling general staff queries and arranging accommodation and travel requirements.

The Staffing Administrator will also assist the Staffing Manager in the successful delivery of the whole staffing function; assisting with cricket events, recruitment, induction, training, payroll, uniform and staff presentation standards when necessary. The role requires a commitment to staff welfare, financial awareness, and compliance with the Club’s internal policies and procedures and current legislation.

 

Required skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail, along with strong administration and organisational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential, as the successful candidate will be interacting with a diverse range of people, both internally and externally. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a ‘can-do’ attitude, and will be customer service focussed, hardworking and approachable. 

Strong IT skills, especially Word and Excel, are essential; along with the ability to prioritise and organise workloads and work to often tight deadlines. Significant flexibility is required for attendance on major match days and working extended hours, including weekends, as required.  Experience in a previous staffing role or venue catering in the leisure sector is beneficial, but is not a prerequisite. Similarly, an interest in cricket is helpful, but not essential.
