Hello all,
Been a while since I have contributed on the forum pages, however getting some cricket withdrawal symptoms! Over the winter up untill Xmas I have been concentrating on baseline strength in the gym. Now since the new year I have started incorporating more cricket specific exercises such as clap push ups and squat jumps etc for power.
I have also taken the rather hard decision to give up trying to be a fast bowler. For the past few years I have struggled with knee injuries and it is just not worth all the pain now. So this year my aim is to concentrate on my batting. Hopefully drop down to the seconds and secure the opening berth, then maybe push for the first team from there. Also on the side I will be trying to work on becoming a leg spinner. Something I have all ways been interested in and had limited success with, also Shane Warne is my ultimate all time cricket hero.
Glad to put that down in writting as it feels definate now!!!
All the best
Lyndon

Hi David,
Cheers for the encouragement. As for my leg break, it is in me somewhere! I know this as I can turn the ball however its the consistancy of putting the ball where I want it. I find that to gain more accuracy I need to try not to spin the ball so hard, and visa versa for when I try to give it a big rip. Last season I took 4 wickets in 4 overs of leg spin in a friendly match when trying in out, however amongst the good stuff there was also alot of rubbish. However I have never studied the intricacies of the leg spin bowling action, before I have just ran up and bowled, so this will be quite a journey for me to learn a relatively new skill.

Keep giving it a rip and you will work rhe accuracy bit out on the way Lyndon. Never give up spinning it hard is my best advice.
