Shortening my run up

i have found that using my normal run up of 22 paces is slowing the over rate in or one day games and as i am not as fast aas our main bowlers i feel it would be in the best interests of the team to shorten my run up.

are there any tips on how to shorten my run up yet not scarifice any of my pace or swing?

Run up only contributes about 10% or so to speed, so shortening it shouldn't make a huge difference. The potential problem is finding rhythm with your new run up.

Start by just running in a field and seeing where feels natural to bowl and mark that distance, then measure it out and practice it in the nets. It shouldn't take every long for it to feel OK. So there is not much of a tip: Just do it. But it works!
