Quick Tip: Stand Up

Filed in:

One of the fitness features of the Apple Watch is an app that tracks how much you stand up. Think that won't help your cricket? think again.

The facts tell us that sitting down is a huge negative. Studies show that the longer you sit during the day - at work, school or anywhere else - the more likely you are to,

  • Have neck pain
  • Be stressed out
  • Have reduced hip and ankle mobility
  • Get cancer!

In fact, it's reasonable to argue that sitting down is killing you. There is a direct correlation between how fast people die, and how much they sit.

Fortunately, the answer is super simple.

Stand up

The simple actor getting out of your chair at least once an hour will make a huge difference. If you can walk around a little as well, you are getting well ahead of the game. Don't just rely on playing cricket then keeping in your seat driving to work, sitting at your desk then driving home 5 days a week.

If an expensive Apple device helps you do that, then buy it. If you can do it under your own motivation, then do it.

But do it you must.

Now that's a quick tip! Two words!
