Back in the nets

Has your preseason practice started yet? How are you doing?

My club started indoor nets this Sunday. It was a great feeling to get back to cricket after this long winter lay-off.

Just to show that I practice what I preach, here are the good things I did:

  1. Cover drives were spot on from the first ball.
  2. I played a good back foot drive later on.
  3. Cutting the slower bowlers was good.
  4. I felt much fitter than this time last year.
  5. I kept well in the net.

And I must admit to a weaker area to work on in the next session: I was misjudging balls just short of a length and playing forward too much meaning I was not cutting or pulling well.

Overall, it was great to be back with far more good than bad. The countdown to the season has begun.

How is practice going for you?
