How to be a Successful T20 Spin Bowler

Everyone has played T20 and seen where the emphasis is on spinners bowling dot balls. Have you found after playing T20 cricket that your 2 day game suffers? And that you start to lose spin?

You might have started to realise that your mindset for bowling in T20 is having a very damaging affect on performance in the longer formats. You find that you have to bowl a lot longer and work a lot harder to take wickets. And you get hit for a lot more runs.

The problem is your approach

The reason I know this is because this was my situation. I played a lot of cricket and in the middle of the year we have a State T20 competition. I found after the competition that my bowling attitude was fixated on bowling dots and that I wasn’t spinning the ball.

I’ve always been blessed that I’ve had great coaches to talk to. But on this occasion it was a player who taught me how to defeat this problem and have bowling success in all formats of cricket. Rather than keeping what I learnt to myself I thought I’d offer this information to other spin bowlers and coaches.
