Struggling to drive through the covers and mid off?

I always use to be a big driver through the wide mid off and cover region but now I feel my only scoring areas are straight and through the midwicket. I've changed my stance and backlift but still not much luck. It always feel like i'm not quite getting to the ball and when do i connect the ball goes alot wider through point.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Fletch,
Check your stance. There is a possibility that you are crouching too much. in case you are bending too much in your stance, you mostly end up restricting your movement to go for the drive. The other thing would be to loosen the bottom hand a bit (and I am not calling for a complete change here) and try driving.

The best way to overcome this is to start with shadow practice. Try playing the drive with a slightly upright stance and watch yourself in shadow.
The next step would be to get a teammate for throw-downs. Ask him to throw half volleys (even full tosses) from a 10 ft distance and play the drives. Try hitting those specifically through covers and extra cover.

All the best.
