PitchVision helps develop Canadian cricket

Filed in:

miSport and Cricket Montreal have been working together to develop cricket in Canada through the PitchVision ball-tracking system. The Hawkeye-like technology is now being used by thousands of budding young cricketers in the Canadian Province, helping spread the gospel of cricket to a brand new audience of children.

The PitchVision system provides instant performance feedback to players: How fast and accurate you can bowl, how hard and far you hit the ball and a host of other statistics that have previously only been accessible to top-flight internationals. It's this kind of information that fires the mind of youngsters starting out in the game. The mobile nature of PitchVision (it can be set up in less than 15 minutes in any standard cricket net) is making it simple for coaches travelling to Montreal High Schools to bring cricket to Canada.

Senyo Nyakutse, Head of Cricket Montreal, said "Technical adjustments in batting and bowling actually have value when they see the results on PitchVision. If you don't catch the interest of 'the 8 second generation' right away you will lose them. For cricket to have a chance in North America, PitchVision is the missing link."

PitchVision Sensors and Software make Academy level technology available to all cricketers. The products are priced to be attractive to club players, juniors, independent coaches, schools and sports centres and are available worldwide.
