Submission rules

These rules are designed to help you get the best advice by making a clear video. Don't worry. You don't need to have great video-making skills. You can use any digital video camera, or a video phone to record your video.

If you want a batting analysis

Make 1-4 video files that include:

Cut Shot
Pull Shot
On Drive
Off Drive
Back Foot Drive
plus an optional any three strokes of your choice

The best angle to film from is front on (from roughly where he bowler's end umpire stands). If you have one, use a tripod or other steady surface to prevent the video wobbling.

If you want a bowling analysis

Make 1-4 video files that include:

Two shots of the bowler from the 'open' side (the open side is the side that you can see the bowlers chest, so the leg side for a right arm bowler bowling to a right arm batsman). Try to include the bound, delivery and first few steps of the follow through.
Two shots of the bowler from the front. The camera operator can position themselves behind a net or over the shoulder of the wicketkeeper.
An optional any 3 variations of your choice.

Try to keep the bowler in shot for the bound, delivery and first few steps of the follow through. Keep the camera as steady as possible (ideally with a tripod if you have one).

Quality of video

When you submit your videos we will make every effort to provide as much advice as possible. The quality of the information does depend on the quality of the video. Below is a list of errors that might prevent us from providing the best analysis:

Shaky images
Bad filming angle (for example filming a batsman from square leg)
Very low resolution filming (such as with older camera-phones)

The secret is to do the best you can and let us give you the best results possible.

Video Upload

This section is where you upload your videos for the coach to access. Here is how you upload your videos:

Select "Feedback Type" (batting or bowling).
Click "Browse" and select the video file on your PC.
Type a short description in the box "Joe Bloggs Batting Video" for example.
Click upload

This will upload the first video and show you the video in the "Uploaded Videos" section. You can repeat the steps for up to 4 videos.

Video Description

Notes to coach Here you can add comments to the coach about any particular issues you are having. Perhaps you have trouble playing off your legs when batting or you can't stop bowling down the leg side when bowling. Put in as much detail as you like.

When you have finished uploading and adding your notes, click the "I'm done" box, read the instructions that pop up and finally click "Sent to Coach". The coach will get back to you shortly.
