MCI International Cricket Camp

University of Potchefstroom, 2nd – 10th December 2010

You can now book for this year’s superb MCI International Cricket Camp in South Africa. The camp will be held at the University of Potchefstroom, an international ground which hosted the qualifying tournament for the 2011 ICC World Cup. The MCI International Cricket Camp is for elite level players aged 17 and over (highly talented younger players considered).

Head Coach Ian Pont and other supporting MCI coaches have put together an outstanding 8-day camp to bring you world-class bowling and batting coaching, which includes:

High-quality net/square practice at one of the top facilities in South Africa

• 50-over matches
• T20 matches
• video analysis
• fielding practice and training
• grooving and drill work
• technical and tactical coaching
• progressive session work
• how to build an innings
• how to create and cope with pressure
• how to develop game plans
• what to do in a crisis, thought processes and solutions
• discovering how to maximise your talent
• how to shift momentum in a game
• how to cope with winning and losing
• how to be creative
• shot selection and shot execution
• how to bowl defensively and aggressively
• training and fitness
• plus much, much more

This means the camp will cover the 5 key areas for developing your talent - technical, tactical, physical, mental and lifestyle.

You will depart on 1st December, arriving on 2nd December and the schedule will be as follows:

• Arrival Day 2nd: Arrive / Travel to Potch AM / at rest PM
• Day One: Nets AM / Nets PM
• Day Two: Video assessments and reviews/lecture AM / Nets PM
• Day Three: 50-over Match at Pukke Oval
• Day Four: Nets AM / Nets PM
• Day Five: 50-over Match at Pukke Oval
• Day Six: Video assessments reviews / lecture AM / Nets PM
• Day Seven: T20 Match AM / T20 Match Pukke Oval PM
• Day Eight: Departure Day 10th: Camp review / lecture AM /
• depart PM (overnight flight)

The University of Potchefstroom is fully supported by first-class franchise, North West Cricket and also plays host to Olympic athletes from around the globe, offering a truly professional centre of excellence.

This is year four for MCI running a cricket camp at Potch and places are available to up and coming cricketers from around the world.

There are limited spaces available for talented players who wish to experience cricket in South Africa and gain a first-class cricket education. Ian Pont is also a current cricket scout to first-class counties.

The MCI International Cricket Camp includes all coaching, nets, matches, half-board guest accommodation (breakfast and lunch), plus transfers to and from Johannesburg international airport.

Cost: £1100. Airfare is not inclusive. A £200 deposit will hold your place, with the balance due 10 weeks prior to the camp (more details on the booking form)
