PitchVision Starts the Countdown to Summer

Filed in:

Online cricket coaching took another step forward today with the launch of PitchVision Academy: Countdown to Summer, the world's most comprehensive site for pre-season cricket training at every level.

For cricketers, January is the time of winter nets. Equipment is made ready and hope is dusted down for another summer. The coaches at PitchVision Academy know how exciting this time is, and also how important the pre-season is to having a better summer in the middle. That's why the site contains everything coaches and players need from now until things kick off in the spring.

Alongside articles, an exclusive newsletter and a calendar of events there is coaching advice and videos from the world's best experts in their field. Names like Mike Brearley (captaincy), Andy Caddick (seam and swing bowling) Gary Palmer (batting) and Derek Randall (fielding) head a star-studded coaching panel.

The site also offers personalised analysis of batsman's and bowler's techniques from first class level coaches. Players film each other on their phone or video camera and upload the video for coaches like Matthew Nicholson and Beau Casson to look over and provide feedback and drills to work on in the nets.

As player's preseason progresses they can measure their success through PitchVision: The revolutionary training system that allows you to track every ball in the nets. Using sensor mats that accurately track the ball and player movement, the system gives instant feedback on bowling and batting data including speed, line, length and bounce, deviation and spin, how many runs the batsman scored against a virtual field setting and whether that LBW appeal was out.
