CRICKET JOBS: Marketing Manager - England Cricket (ECB)

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is responsible for developing and delivering the game of cricket, from the Playground to the Test Arena. The England Cricket teams are the pinnacle of sporting excellence across England and Wales.
 
We are recruiting for an experienced Marketing Manager to join our Marketing team, working with the England Cricket teams (Men’s, Women’s and Disability).

 
 
The purpose of this role is to deliver insight-led marketing campaigns which will grow England Cricket’s awareness and affinity among cricket followers.  The role also requires working closely with the Test Match Grounds, our Commercial Partners (e.g. Waitrose, Investec) and our Broadcast Partners.
 
The successful candidate will join the Commercial Department, reporting to the Head of Marketing.
The role involves working with numerous stakeholders within the ECB, including the England Cricket department, our Digital and Communications teams, as well as key commercial partners, the Professional Cricketer’s Association and the Test Match Grounds.
 
This role requires knowledge of cricket and experience of insight-led marketing.
 
Roles and responsibilities
 
Work with internal and external stakeholders to grow awareness of and affinity towards England Cricket
  • Adopt a customer-first, insight-led approach
  • Demonstrate planning, measurement, communication and collaboration
  • Champion our customer segmentation and We Are England Cricket positioning
  • Align brand positioning and identify synergies and opportunities across Cricket and Commercial Partners
Deliver the Annual Marketing Plan
  • Media Planning, Content planning and PR
  • Work closely with the Digital team to deliver a “destination for cricket” at ecb.co.uk
  • Work with the Communications team to prioritise and ensure consistency of messaging
  • Lead agencies to develop creative assets and media plans
  • Understand Commercial Partners’ and counties’ customers and strategy,  dovetailing activity across the season
  • Manage the annual budget and the agency review process
  • Agree the Right Measurement to ensure effective activity – e.g. tracking measures
  • Input into annual research plans
Person specification
 
Essential
  • demonstrable experience in sports, event marketing or consumer brands
  • Strong understanding of cricket
  • university-level or equivalent qualification
  • experience of working with professional sportspeople
  • experience of developing and delivering multi-channel marketing plans
  • ability to build and manage multiple stakeholder relationships
  • confident in building relationships with senior management
