Competition: How to Practice Alone and Indoors

Filed in:

For those of us in the Northern part of the world, winter is a time for being indoors and certainly not cricket weather.

It is good for listening to the Cricket Show and sending in your question though; just like Paul - this week’s competition winner - did.

On the show ever week we give away a prize of a free cricket coaching course from PitchVision Academy. Paul’s question won him that very prize by asking:

“Now that old man winter is showing up here in the State of New York, what can of practice can I do in the hallway of my home to keep improving my bowling (off-spin) and batting?”

You can listen to the answer here.

They gave great tips as always. Thank you

How big is the hallway? Smiling

Batting. Underarm tennis balls against the far wall so the bounce back to you as a bobble feed. Play controlled forward or back shots, concentrating on shape, balance and alignment. Feed the ball so the line changes so you can work it straight or off your legs where most batters are weaker.

Use a junior or cut/thin bat to make it harder.
