The better your bowling attack, the more sensible the top order should be. Build a decent platform, then try to accelerate later on. But at the very least get yourself into a defendable position where you think your bowlers should be able to do the job.

Alternately, if your bowling is weak then the openers have to really go for it, because only a big score will win you the game.
