Free comprehensive cricket resource

Filed in:

I have been mulling over the idea of producing a comprehensive-print-and-keep guide for you to have for free.

It's going to take a while to do so I decided to ask what topic you would be more likely to want in a pdf format? With your input I can get to work.

So my question is simple: what topic would you like it on?

According to my logs, the most popular topic is cricket fielding drills, so I favour that at the moment. Something like that would contain drills for every fielding skill, descriptions pictures and diagrams. All for gratis.

You get the idea.

So would you go for that or something else? Fitness? Psychological Tips? I'm open to ideas.

Leave a comment below or drop me an email. The more I get back from you the more I am able to give.

A pdf format would be great. I like the idea of fielding drills and also the idea of a fitness guide. It's a hard one to decide on. If you chose a fitness guide I would love to see fitness for every position (batter, bowler, all-rounder etc) and stuff on preventing injuries, all the usual stuff. Also demonstations or diagrams of how to complete certain exercises (bench press, deadlift etc) would be excellent. Also things like progressive overload and specificity would be excellent.

Great Idea,

I would suggest fitness in the off season

Fielding would be excellent - any ideas for my youngsters are appreciated.

thanks for the great advice, I think it would be really useful to send out downloadable PDFs, but maybe an option would be to have different drills for different ages. Certainly when I coach, the under 9s, 11 and colts all want (and to be honest are able to understand) varying levels of drills. ie something much easier to understand and shorter for the younger ones! also with under 11s the groups can often be quite large so maybe you could bear this in mind too?

Some drills/games for batting and bowling on your own. I'd find that really useful as I can't find anyone to come and practice with me all the time.

Thanks...You can never have enough drills...

I personally would like to see some psychological tips in there.

Fielding skills, drills & games would be top of my list and much appreciated - variety is key to keeping the younger club members interested!

I would also like to see many if not all the bowling variations (off cutters leg cutters doosra flipper seam bowling swing bowling off and leg breaks etc) I would also like to see different batting and bowling drills to improve these aspects, as well as tactics for all ares of the game.

change 'ares' to 'areas'

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I'm going to go with fielding drills and depending how popular it is, maybe come up with some of your other ideas.

I'll keep you all posted on it...
