Community Coach: Wiltshire Cricket

Wiltshire Cricket Limited wish to appoint a Community Coach who will lead on the delivery of the Board’s secondary school Cricket offer. The Board has recently produced an offer that outlines all of the various programmes and services that are available to schools through Cricket. The role of the Community coach will be to work with the Wiltshire Cricket Development team to identify the needs of each secondary school throughout the county. Having identified which aspects of the offer are appropriate to each secondary school, the Community coach will then be responsible for delivering in each of these schools.

The post is being supported by the Cricket Foundation through the Board’s Chance to Shine funding and by Wiltshire and Swindon Sport (WASP). The successful candidate’s work programme will be managed by the Wiltshire Cricket Development Officer (Head of School’s Cricket) with a view to ensuring that Cricket becomes embedded in to secondary schools’ cultures throughout the county. The post holder will be an integral part of achieving the outcome of creating a sustainable future for cricket by attracting people to participate in Sport with cricket as their sport of choice.

Indoor Cricket Tournament Director: British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS)

The BUCS Indoor Cricket programme is one of the fastest growing in the BUCS sporting programme. The partnership with the ECB has enabled the competition to expand dramatically with over 120 teams playing across the UK. To ensure the smooth running of the 51 regional competitions BUCS requires a tournament director at each of the events.

Schools Development Officer: Hampshire Cricket Board

Hampshire Cricket Board is responsible for developing recreational cricket within the county. We work closely with Hampshire Cricket and other partners to coordinate a diverse range of activities designed to provide cricketing opportunities for adults, boys, girls and people with disabilities.

We are recruiting a part time Schools Development Officer to support the management and administration of the Cricket Foundations Chance to Shine Programme. Through the programme we aim to inspire young people to choose cricket and be the best sport for schools to work with. This new appointment will be central to making this happen. The successful candidate will be required to develop relationships with schools and take responsibility for organising schools coaching programmes, managing competitions, coordinating teacher training and ensuring migration to local clubs.

Girls Cricket Development Officer: Northern Districts Cricket

Northern Districts Cricket is seeking a Girls Cricket Development Officer in the Counties Manukau region for 20 hours per week for 16 weeks.

This is an independent fixed term contract that involves working with girls from year 5 to year 13, coordinating and delivering girls cricket. The contract covers two periods, from 21st October to 20th December and then from 10th February to 28th March.

The successful applicant will be paid an hour and will also receive an un-taxable weekly petrol allowance. The exact amount of this allowance will be discussed with the successful applicant before the start of their role.

This role will form our on-going commitment to having female role models within our summer game, and preference will be given to applicants with sports coaching experience.

Senior Coach/Player Coach: St Margaretsbury Cricket Club

We are keen to meet and talk with a senior coach, who may also still play, who would be interested in helping our established club to regroup and move forward once more.

We envisage that the coach would start working with our adult players from January through to March at indoor training. The coach would then also plan and deliver the outdoor adult training session once per week during the season. If time and budgets allow, we hope that the coach may support the preparation of a team on match day and will have had significant input on selection.

The club is also continuing to support more managers in our junior section in becoming qualified coaches and has a strong tradition of developing young cricketers and giving them their opportunity in adult cricket. Our senior coach will be an example to our other coaches and closely monitor our young talent.

Talent Scout: Cricket New Zealand

Cricket is New Zealand’s staple summer sport with more than 100,000 people currently playing the game, making it one of the most widely played sports in the country.

New Zealand Cricket is responsible for the administration of the game in New Zealand, with delivery of grassroots, club, school and representative programmes managed through six regional Major Associations. New Zealand Cricket also administers the New Zealand men’s international team, The BLACKCAPS and the women’s international team, The White Ferns, as well as the New Zealand A, U19 teams and emerging players.

We’re looking for two Talent Scouts, reporting to the GM National Selection. These are part time contract roles from the end of October 2013 until the end of March 2014, involving approximately 80 days of work over this period.

The primary focus of the HP Talent Scout is to identify the talented players in the national men’s pathway who have the potential to become international cricketers for the BLACKCAPS, or representatives at New Zealand A or New Zealand Under-19 levels. This may involve attendance at Plunket Shield, Ford Trophy, HRV Twenty20 or the occasional U19 or secondary school fixtures, prior to making recommendations to the GM National Selection.

National/High Performance Cricket Coach: Jersey Cricket Board

The Jersey Cricket Board is seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated coach to assist with the continued development of cricket in the Island.

Cricket Coach: University of Exeter

A full-time Cricket Coach is required at the Sports Park, at the University of Exeter. The role will involve coaching and management. This position will be for 10 months and is part of the Graduate Business Partnership internship scheme.

The main duties will include assisting the Director of Cricket in the coaching of University second and third eleven cricket teams, to be lead coach of the Exeter College cricket academy and all holiday camps and coach on a one to one basis as required. You will also support the management of the indoor corporate league and oversee and ensure that the cricket centre is maintained to the highest standard of presentation at all times.
