Mark Garaway takes time out from choosing a new head of MCCU Loughborough to give his normal simple yet effective advice and insight.

We don’t just talk about what is happening at the ECB performance centre though. Burner’s and David chat with Garas about 2 day batting camps, fitness for fast bowlers and switching to spin aged 25.

Burners gets on his soap box with a vengeance too (stay tuned right until the end to hear a bonus rant).

Sadly due to technical difficulties we are unable to bring you an interview this week, but there is still plenty for you to enjoy in the half hour.

Thanks for using my question on the show David. I've mulled over your email advice as well and have decided to make the switch. I see Mark's point about having an impact, getting a go etc but with 34 wickets in 7 games last season and an average bowling spell of 11 overs a game in the 2011 season, that was from being a concern. I've always been a cricket fanatic and have always been of the opinion that spinners need a lot of strength and technique to give the ball a good rip. Like you said, being a reasonable seamer gives me a stock delivery to which I could add both the cutters and a few change of pace balls but being a reasonable spinner that gives it a massive rip means I should be able to do a lot of focused practice on my stock delivery. My short term goal is to increase the amount of revs I can get on a ball, I get very strange looks squeezing a cricket ball all the day while talking to clients over the phone, and to then add a reasonable arm ball (or a floater, drifter or anything else you want to call it). I hope you have a good off spinning course on here as I intend on buying one as soon as winter nets begin!

Great choice Adarsh. Keep working on giving it a rip! This is my favourite resource - written by an off spinner - http://www.pitchvision.com/cricket-coaching/course/spin-bowling-project/...
