Done it myself a number of times, with and without gloves.

Also done a variation where i take a high throw fingers up, hands in front of the stumps but body behind stumps so just a little lean forwards. On catching, i "drop and roll": bring my hands forward and down in a "c" arc, using some of the momentum from my hands coming forward and the ball coming towards me to win my hands down quicker.

Got to be careful as can't really give with the ball so it's only for fairly wild but not too powerful throws.

I want to learn more sports activities. I play football or hockey on weekend and i want to practice cricket also. So i will refer you video for same.
